CHS has a new worship schedule

Saturday, 4:00 p.m. (switching to 5:00 p.m., March through October),

Holy Eucharist, Rite II “Plus”

Sunday, 7:30 a.m.,

Holy Eucharist, Rite I

Sunday, 9:00 a.m.,

Adult Christian Education (Parish Hall)

Sunday 9:45 a.m.,

Church School [Children & Youth] (Gathering Room and Sunday School Classrooms)

Sunday 10:00 a.m.

Holy Eucharist, Rite II

The Sunday 7:30 a.m. Rite I service will continue “as is,” although we will be starting a simple coffee following in the Parish Hall.

We are establishing a regular Adult Christian Education offering, from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m., in the Parish Hall. Church School for Children and Youth will continue in exactly its present pattern—moved to one hour later to track with the new 10 o’clock hour for the main service.

The main service, a Rite II Choral Eucharist, will continue very much “as is,” beginning now at 10:00 a.m.

Our new Saturday early evening service will be different—from “day one” definitely not like the others!  It will, of course, be a fully recognizable Episcopal service, with music.  However, it will be quieter, simpler, more meditative in feel—developing its own pattern and feel.  It will also be an hour or less in length.  

We aim to have it a service that can meet needs of both long-term Episcopalians and also seekers who do not come to us with an active church background.  It will be Rite II “Plus,” with substantial use of the Rite II texts in The Book of Common Prayer, but also making use of some additional resources, as well.  The Saturday service will begin at 4:00 p.m. from November through the end of February—but change to 5:00 p.m. from March through October.
